Choosing the right keyword phrase to market is critical to the success of your marketing efforts and ultimately of your website.
Below are some key points to be aware of when choosing the keyword phrase you want to market.
| Remember to choose a single keyword phrase, not a list of phrases. A
keyword phrase should be something your potential cusotmer would type
into the search field on their favorite search engine. |

Remember to focus your marketing efforts on the undecided buyers.
Customers who search for your site by name are not undecided, they are
already buyers. Customers who search for general terms are not buyers,
they are lookers. Focus on the group of people you can turn into
buyers. When you choose your keyword phrase keep this in mind.
| Is your keyword phrase also your exact meta title? |
The link between your Meta Title and the keyword phrase linking to you is noe of the most powerful single criteria for SEO effectiveness.
Remember to choose a keyword phrase with plenty of demand. The Reverse
Search Tool can tell you exactly how much demand there is.
Remember that a product is different from a market. Your keyword phrase
must reflect how your market searches for your product. Example if your
product is car stereos your keyword phrase might differ from "mp3 car stereos"
for those wishing to buy a new mp3 player for their to "indoor
hanging plants" for those wishing to buy plants for their offices.
| Remember to choose a keyword phrase with fewer other sites competing
for the same traffic. Google your keyword phrase and see how many other
sites there are. Your marketing efforts will be most effective for
keyword phrases that have fewer than 700,000 pages found. |

Remember to compare the results found when you Google your keyword phrase withthe results found when you used the Reverse Search Tool. If the supply (the number of pages trying to supply all the customers with product) appears to exceed demand (the number of customers searching for that particular keyword phrase) then choose another keyword phrase.

| In order to make your marketing efforts return a profit you must know what market you are getting into beforehand. |
Keep close track of the information below and keep track of the changes in any of these numbers as your efforts proceed. |
